- Eva (went by Eve) Cathariina Voltz (surname changed into Foltz in the 1800s) was the eighth of ten known children of Johann Peter (went by Peter) Voltz (1726-1806) and Eva Elisabeth Jacke Voltz (1724-1784) who were both born in Germany where they married at Guntershofen, Lower Alsace, Germany on 18 Jan 1745, emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1750 and then moved to vincinity of the Moravian Community at Friedberg, then on the border of Rowan and Stokes Counties, now on the border of Forsyth and Davidson Counties, North Carolina in about 1758.
Eve first married Mattheus (Matthew) Noething (Nading) (1756-1807) on 10 Jun 1783 at Friedberg, Stokes (present day border of Forsyth and Davidson Counties) County, North Carolina. Eve and Mattheus were the parents of seven known children, six boys and one girl. After Mattheus died, Eve remarried to the widower Philip Joseph Knauss (Knause) (1750-1826) on 04 May 1817. Eve and Philip had no children together. [1]
