Text | Wedding Bells Marriage of Miss Key and Mr. Taylor. On Thursday afternoon, June 30th, there was a happy gathering of friends and relatives at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Key, Oakland, to celebrate the marriage of their daughter Nettie L to Mr. James H Taylor. If the old adage, "Happy is the bride that the sun shines on," holds good, the bride in this instance should surely have a surfeit of happiness for Old Sol fairly out shone himself in an ardent effort to create a warmth of feeling suitable for the occasion. Promptly at 2:30 p.m.. to the strains of the Lohengrin's bridal chorus rendered by Miss Minnie E Taylor, the Rev. J Scholfield, or Brantford, proceeded through the prettily decorated rooms to the parlor, closely followed by the groom who was supported by Mr. Newton C Webster, of Brantford. Almost immediately the bride appeared, looking very pretty in a dress of cream crepon trimmed with chiffon and cream satin and carrying a boquet of cream roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Louise Key, was becomingly attired in white over mauve, with a boquet of pale pink roses. After the short but impressive ceremony the assembled party partook of a bountiful and well served dejeuner. A number of the guests escorted the young couple to the station where amid the proverbial showers of rice and old shoes, they left on the evening train for Toronto and points east. The bride is well -known in Oakland, her father has held the office of Township clerk for a number of years. Her absence from the church and social circles there will be greatly felt by her many friends. The groom is a native of Burnley, Lancashire, Eng., leaving there to come to Brantford two years ago, where he speedily won a host of friends, but left to accept a position as commercial correspondent with a large cycle firm in Tonawanda, N.Y., where Mr. and Mrs. Taylor will make their home. Accompanying the hearty congratulations and sincere well wishes were a number of useful and valuable presents, all showing conclusively the high esteem in which the newly married couple are held by their many friends.
