Text | Man Drowned In Vespra Little Lake - The body of Henry Reynolds, a Barrie resident, was found Tuesday morning in a few feet of water at the edge of a large pond, known as Little Lake, on the 8th concession of Vespra. Mr. Reynolds, who had been in poor health for some time, made his home with his brother Robt. Reynolds, Penetang St., Barrie. On Monday afternoon Mr. R. Reynolds took his brother out to the former's son's farm, Howard Reynolds, thinking the outing would do him good. He was left sitting on the verandah about seven o'clock, while the other men were out in the fields, and unnoticed, he wandered away. Later in the evening as he did not return, a search was made which continued all night without success. On Tuesday morning Mrs. Reynolds went down to the lake which is partly on the farm, and found the unfortunate man lying in the water at the edge of the pond. Deceased was 68 years of age and had been a railroad man most of his life. He has a wife and family in Niagara Falls, but had been separated from them for some time. For the last two years he had made his home with his brother in Barrie. Besides his brother Robert, two other brothers survive, Joseph of Midland and William of Wyevale. The funeral takes place this afternoon to Stroud Cemetery. | |
