He served in the Battle of Stoney Creek, 1813. Many of his descendants served in the Great War, 1914-1918. He. founded. the. Methodist church, Carlisle. Was local preacher. "His wife Catharine, a cousin of Laura Second, helped build the First Carlisle Methodist church, 1852. "Hundreds of relatives gathered here, July 17, 1926, to honor their memories, and praise God for His providence."
