- SMITH, Constance (nee Pfeiffer) Connie Smith, 85, passed away peacefully with her 3 slaves by her side, Kathy, Kevin and Karyn and her favourite son-in-law Frank at Innisfree Hospice on Sunday, May 14, 2017 after a long four week vacation at Grand River Hospital and Hamilton General where she constantly complained about wrinkles in the bedding and the indignification of tubular interfaces. Connie was an amazing woman, mother, grandmother (19) and great-grandmother (16). Connie was born November 17, 1931 in Waterloo to the late Constance Harley and Lorne Pfeiffer. She leaves behind a very dysfunctional family that she loved very much. Our Mom was well known for telling it like it is. She always told the truth even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear. She was genuine to a fault and sugar coated nothing. She perfected middle finger sign language and the F word was a noun, verb and subjective completion. Everyone always knew where they stood with her. Don't take this wrong, we knew most of it was a front to keep us in line because she was really a very caring person. She will be sorely missed by her sister Kathryn Jermy and her herd David (Lois), Dean and Doug Tieleman who were the proud sons of her late first husband Edward (Whitey) Tieleman and, from her second attempt at marriage, Karyn Zepf (Frank), Kathryn Aires, Kevin, Darryl (Tracy) and Colin. Predeceased by her brothers Lorne and Richard. All who loved her dearly will never forget her wit, charm, humour and strong love for her family. Cremation has taken place and a family celebration will be held at a later date. In her memory donations to the Innisfree Hospice would be so appreciated. Innisfree Hospice was the epitome of care. There you go, Mom, everything just the way you wanted it right to the end. We will miss you.
