Eaton-Vanduzen Clan Assemble Two Thousand Strong
A century after John Eaton and his wife Catherine Vanduzen settled
at Carlisle, Ont., some two thousand of their descendants assembled at
the old Eaton homestead on Saturday to unveil a tablet to the memory of
these pioneers and renew acquaintance among themselves. A Christening
service for thirty-eight of the children was held by Rev. Herman E. Walker,
pastor of Carlisle United Church. This church was founded by John Eaton,
who was local preacher at Carlisle a hundred years ago.
