To Clara and Jack,
I am providing you something I think will come in handy while
you live and very handy for the family to know how they come into
the world and by whome.
1st Mary Jury was the only one left in the family of William Jury
and wife in 1832. They came on a sailing vessel from Devonshire
England bought a 200 acre bush farm in Wilmot 3 miles N.E. of Plattsville
some time after the Lake families came from Devonshire England.
Mary was 6 months old when her Dad Wm. Jury came here so when the
Lakes came John was the first to come he worked for Wm. Jury some
years and in the year 1849 he married Mary Jury. 2 children was
born on my Grand Fathers farm. Nancy and Bill so he thought he would
get a farm of his own. So he bought 110 acres of Bush land on the
14th line of Blandford in the county of Ozford. At the time of their
marriage she was 17 he was 28 that was in 1849 so in 1853 the moved
